PROJECT OVERVIEW

Phase 2 of the Second Avenue Subway is extending the Q line into East Harlem and Harlem, adding new stations at 106th Street, 116th Street, and 125th Street/Lexington Avenue, with direct connections to the 4/5/6 subway lines and Metro-North. This transformative project will expand transit access, shorten commute times, and improve connectivity for thousands of daily riders.

The project entered the Engineering phase of the Federal Capital Investment Grants program in January 2022 and secured $3.4 billion in federal funding in November 2023. Construction began in January 2024 with utility relocation and infrastructure upgrades at the future 106th Street Station.

As part of the project team, IVY Engineering Group is providing quality and construction management services to ensure contractor performance, adherence to standards, and efficient delivery of this vital transit improvement.
