PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Saint Nicholas Houses Modernization project is a design-build initiative to revitalize 1,526 units across 13 buildings at the Saint Nicholas Houses in Harlem, home to nearly 3,340 residents. The top-to-bottom renovation includes complete gut renovation of apartments; new kitchen and bathroom plumbing; electrification of heat and hot water; elevator replacements; improved ventilation; hazardous material abatement, including removal of all lead-based paint; electrical upgrades; window replacements; security and accessibility upgrades; pest and waste management upgrades; and façade repairs, including a new cladding system on the building exteriors.
IVY Engineering Group (IVY) is providing a Construction Inspector and Environmental Project Manager for NYCHA on the Saint Nicholas Houses Modernization project, with construction management services expanding to include comprehensive management and quality assurance of design and construction activities — ensuring adherence to established schedules and the highest quality standards, fulfillment of all contractual terms, and alignment of all design-build activities with NYCHA’s design standards.
